Lothar Herzog, born in Freiburg, Germany, grew up in Paris. He studied Applied Cultural Studies in Hildesheim, Film Studies in San Francisco, and Film Directing at the German Film & Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin. His short films 'Yuppie Cars' and 'you know the park is filled with flowers' were shown in Cannes and at the Berlinale. His first feature film '1986' was completed in 2019. It was presented at numerous film festivals, was nominated for the German First Steps Award for Best Feature Film and won the Gold Price for Best Directing at the International Film Festival Hof (Germany).
